Liothyronine (T3) is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland in the human body. It is responsible, among others, for the increased metabolism by increasing the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
Undoubtedly, the loss of unwanted adipose tissue among the users of this hormone is the advantage of such action, which the bodybuilders have noticed. The world of bodybuilding has a synthetic form of this hormone available under many trade names, which contributed to the widespread use of T3.
In bodybuilding, it is used to reduce weight and improve muscle definition in the pre-start period. T3 is usually added to anti-catabolics – Clenbuterol / Salbutamol, and steroids – Winstrol, Parabolan, Testosterone Propionate. This action allows you to lose fat and at the same time form muscles for the upcoming competition.
It also happens (especially in professional bodybuilders) that T3 is used in long cycles with the use of Growth Hormone in order to cover the body’s needs for this hormone, and to reduce fat storage and increase protein synthesis during mass cycles.
When using it, however, care should be taken to avoid unwanted muscle loss, so you should constantly monitor the supply of nutrients and increase depending on the needs.
The use of T3 should begin with the lowest doses of 12.5-25mcg, and gradually increase them every few days until it reaches 75-150mcg (depending on the advancement). Most users start with a dose of 12.5-25mcg daily in the morning and increase the dose after 3-5 days.
Doses of 12.5-25mcg can be taken in the morning, while higher doses can be taken during the day. Do not exceed 4-8 weeks. application of the measure. Thyroid function tests should be performed before starting T3 use.
Side effects may occur during the use of T3 – heart palpitations, tremors, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, pressure on the heart, anxiety, excessive sweating, diarrhea, weight loss, mental disorders, and permanent disturbances in thyroid function or hypothyroidism may also occur.
It is very important to gradually withdraw the drug by systematically lowering the dose.
